My approach is strength-based meaning, I learn about my clients’ strengths and positive attributes, then guide my clients in applying their strengths in areas of their lives where they are struggling. What sets me apart from other therapists is I use more than just the skills I’ve learned from school to help you. As a spiritual and personable person, I get to know YOU and listen to what my intuition tells me about you and your situation to help free you from areas where you are stuck or feel blocked from reaching your personal goals or gaining happiness. I bring warmth and humor to our work and strive to make my clients feel safe and valued.
During our time together, you will learn skills and techniques that you can continue to apply in your life well after our time has been spent. You can look at it as a lifetime investment to yourself. My areas of expertise include working with people who…
• struggle with low self-esteem
• have co-occurring disorders (substance dependency and mental/emotional problems)
• are stuck in unhappy or unhealthy relationships
• are depressed or chronically sad
• are anxious and afraid
• have co-dependent behaviors
• have experienced a difficult childhood
• have experienced a traumatic situation/Race-Based Traumatic Stress
• are children/teens with school or behavior issues
I hold academic degrees from California State University, East Bay (M.S., Counseling, emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy) and University of California, Davis (B.A., Psychology and minor in Spanish).
